We have a senior
nursing opportunity within our Gynaecology Service at Christchurch Women's
Hospital for an experienced registered nurse to join our nursing team as a
Cancer Nurse Coordinator.
Our Gynaecology
Service at Christchurch Women's Hospital consists of inpatient services,
delivering elective and acute care, and outpatient services where clinics and a
procedure unit provide a wide range of women's health services.
This role is essential to support
and improve the experience for patients and their family/whanau with a
suspected or confirmed cancer diagnosis. Care coordination and working
collaboratively with the health care team across the gynaecology services, and the wider
women's health team are key functions of this role to ensure patients have timely
access to health care services for their cancer treatment.
Ko wai koe | About You
Your clinical
expertise and passion for women's health will enable you to provide coordinated
care and valuable support to women.
You
will be a key contact for the patients and their family/whanau as well as
health professionals in navigating the health services to ensure efficient,
appropriate and timely care is delivered.
This
role will see you working closely and collaboratively with all members of
the health care team including care co-ordinators from around New Zealand,
primary, secondary and tertiary health providers.
Having
experience in a cancer or surgical specialty area, knowledge of regional and
national standards in relation to cancer care, and the ability to function both
collaboratively and autonomously, will provide you with the enablers to carry
out this role. Your excellent problem solving, organisational, communication
and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to be flexible are essential
when undertaking the clinical case co-ordination required. Having comprehensive
knowledge and understanding of health systems is an advantage.

- NZ Registered Nurse with a
current Annual Practising Certificate
- Expert clinical nursing knowledge with experience in oncology
- Excellent
time management and organisational skills
- The
ability to be adaptable and flexible
- Computer literate
- A solution focused approach
to your work and the ability to problem solve and think on your feet
- Demonstrated
ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other
professionals.
- Ability to share and demonstrate specialist knowledge to enable
