We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Business Manager to join our Corporate Support Services at Waitaha Canterbury. You will be a part of a small, collaborative kapa (team) who work closely together to deliver quality services and improve processes within the Waitaha Canterbury corporate environment. Our team works with a proactive, can-do attitude where great importance is placed on effective communication and support amongst our members.
The Business Manager will provide an instrumental role in planning of investments and review of investment proposals, and act as a lead in the monitoring, reporting and liaison of the organisation - s improvement in investment-related elements.
**_ This role is fixed term until the end of June 2024. The role is between 38-40 hours per week._**
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing analytical support to the Executive Management Team (EMT) in order to inform decision making processes
- Providing reporting to EMT to enable monitoring and governance of investments
- Reporting to central agencies, such as Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand, Treasury, etc.
- Ensuring the Business Case development and approval is aligned to the national guidelines and processes
- Managing the planning and prioritisation of capital requirements and budget allocation process
- Reviewing business cases and making recommendations to the EMT on investment
- Providing coaching, training and support on business cases development
- Reporting on post-implementation project deliverables and benefits
- Working collaboratively to develop processes, frameworks and policies

This role would suit someone who has management accounting background, is a strategic thinker, builds strong working relationships and takes a proactive approach to look for process improvements. This role requires you to communicate and be able to influence various internal and external stakeholders. This role and environment would suit someone who is able to work in an adaptable and changing environment, which requires you to be resilient and flexible.

Your skills will include:
- A background in management accounting
- broad knowledge of the health sector
- Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in business cases development
- Experience in preparation of reports, analyses and strategic documents
- Knowledge and understanding of Planning in a government organisation would be beneficial
- Analytical and strategic skills
