**The role**
As a Supervisor, you’ll provide support and to oversee the successful delivery of contracting tasks from inception to closure including scoping, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling to achieve specific goals and success criteria of the customer and Northpower of safety, quality, on-time completion and budget. This role will report to the Operations Manager - HV Cables and you’ll be based at Auckland.

- The key responsibilities for the Supervisor position include, but are not limited to:
- Support Project Managers and Design Estimators with Estimating, pre-work scoping, developing and reviewing work methodologies
- Ensure work is fully planned and evaluate risks, contingencies and identifying safety, environmental and other influencing factors
- Review job requirements including materials, plant, contractors, labour availability in accordance with the work scope and scheduling
- Site Management and support the Field Staff
- Manage the field documentation and other reports are completed on time
- Ensure customer GIS data capture information undertaken as required
- Build effective relationships with your team members and support their professional and personal development
- Perform competent audits, quality checks and ensure that jobs are timely scoped and priced
- Explore alternative ideas to make cost savings and improvements
- Prepare regular reports on work achieved & forward work forecasting

**What we’re looking for?**Following skills would be an added advantage:
- Transmission industry experience, dealing with Stakeholders and/or relevant network experience
- Relevant trade qualifications and current practising licence as required
- National Certificate Electricity Supply (NCES) Line Mechanic - Distribution Level 4 or Live Work Level 5, National Certificate of Electrical Engineering Level 4 or equivalent to this would be preferred
- Knowledge of relevant Codes of Practice, Policies, Standards, Work Procedures, Legislative requirements, and the relevant Parts of the Safe Manual - Electricity Industry (SE-MI)
- Electrical industry qualifications and New Zealand EWRD registration
- Current Workplace Competency (WTC)’s as required
- Ability to organise and plan own workload and self-manage
- Ability to deliver positive outcomes without compromising Health, Safety, Quality and the Environment (HSQE)
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization both verbally and in writing
- Ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally
- Great computer skills with proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Project
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a multi-cultural environment
- A strategic thinker with the ability to solve problems and make decisions
- Ability to motivate and influence others while demonstrating integrity and trust
- HT license with class 2 or 4 are preferred
- Full clean drivers’ licence is required
