Our client has unique capabilities across engineering, manufacturing, commissioning, installation and maintenance and a strong reputation as a leading Australasian manufacturer. They are in the process of building a new rail workshop and are looking for an qualified Electrical Service Technician.

They are in the process of building a new rail workshop and are looking for a qualified Electrical Service Technician to join this exciting project
- This role in our Wellington team is best suited for someone who has the ability to diagnose machines and the knowledge and confidence to be able to work alone with little supervision after the workshop is set up and the current team go back to Australia. You will assist with the build, installation, commissioning, and ongoing service of a variety of machinery and automated equipment. Trouble shoot and identify required repairs and/or replacement of parts, whilst also providing technical customer support and training where required on the proper uses of machinery, fixtures, and other Mechanical & Electrical aspects of equipment.**We offer our employees**:

**Key responsibilities**:

- Diagnose problems and/or failures equipment
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance
- Maintain equipment and manage inventory levels
- Prepare documentation and reports such as pre and post service reports, SWMS, maintenance schedules
- Assist other trades personnel as required (eg commissioning, on-site repair/servicing, fault finding).

**What we require**:

- Min 6 years electrical experience within an engineering/ manufacturing environment
- Experienced in troubleshooting PLC and NC controls (Siemens Preferred)
- Understanding of Hydraulics, Pneumatics and CNC Machine Operation
- Strong PC skills - Microsoft Office suite of products
- Understanding of engineering drawings.
- Fully licensed
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Good communication/ negotiation skills
- Ability to meet deadlines, and to work under pressure.
- Willingness and ability to work outside of business hours
- Willingness and ability to travel for work
