This is an exciting opportunity for a professional,
highly motivated Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join the Genetics
gene and mitochondrial disorders, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis and
molecular oncology/haematology. The laboratory is well equipped with the latest
technology and has established national and international research
collaborations.
This is a fixed term position in a busy genetics
laboratory that provides diagnostic testing nationally and internationally. The
preferred roster pattern to fit with service delivery requirements is 8.30am to
5pm, 5 days per week. However, a slight adjustment to this roster pattern may
be considered.
This role is available due to an existing team
member taking parental leave and is anticipated to be available until September
2024. We are ideally looking for an MLS with previous experience working as a
scientist in a diagnostic genetics laboratory. Experience in variant curation
would be advantageous but is not essential.

You will be registered (or eligible for
registration) as an MLS with the New Zealand Medical Sciences Council and will ideally
have previous experience working as a scientist in a diagnostic genetic
laboratory.

You will be a highly motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills
and able to work as part of a team as well as independently. In addition, you
will be organised and efficient with effective time management skills.
