Medical Laboratory Scientist - Biochemistry/Immunology

Our Biochemistry-Immunology Department is currently looking for an enthusiastic competent Medical Laboratory scientist (80 hours per fortnight). This is an entry level role that would suit a new Medical Laboratory Science Graduate.

The department operates from 8.30am - 10pm Monday to Friday and 9.30am - 3.30 pm Saturday. This is a full-time, permanent position and the hours of work will include participation in a Saturday roster (currently around 1 in 6) and one day a week on a late shift finishing at 10pm.

This role requires participation in general biochemistry/immunology duties including:_**
- Preanalytical sample processing
- Operation of our Roche automation system
- Protein analysis (electrophoresis, immunofixation and interpretation)
- HPLC and immunoassay analysis
- Quality control and result validation
- Equipment and laboratory environment maintenance

**_ To succeed in this role you will need:_**
- To be a NZ Medical Sciences Council registered Scientist or be eligible for registration
- New graduates with biochemistry/immunology placement experience are welcome to apply
- An understanding of the principles, techniques, and methods used in biochemistry/immunology
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to follow procedures and work in a busy environment
