**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

We are looking for a Speech-language Therapist to join our dynamic, high-performing adult service for up to 0.9FTE (36 hours per week) on a 6 month contract. Whilst this is predominantly an inpatient role to support our service over the busy winter months, there is also the opportunity for outpatient work in the areas of voice, gender-affirming voice therapy, dysphagia and head & neck oncology.

You will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients with a wide range of acquired communication and swallowing disorders. Experience in critical/intensive care, VFSS and FEES would be beneficial, but not essential.

We have a well-developed programme of continuing professional development, including involvement in SIGs, a district-wide quarterly wānanga, and access to a range of online and face-to-face learning opportunities. We have a reputation for excellence and regularly participate in quality improvement opportunities to grow the level of service we provide to our patients and their whānau.

**Moū - About you**

You will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with adults with communication and swallowing disorders. You will be able to demonstrate sound clinical reasoning, good communication skills, the ability to work independently and to quickly build strong working relationships across the multi-disciplinary team. Excellent time management and prioritisation skills are essential in this fast-paced hospital environment.

You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to culturally safe practice that supports health equity for our patients and upholds our responsibilities under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

You will be a member of the New Zealand Speech-language Therapy Association (NZSTA).
