We have an exciting role available for a **full time (1.0FTE), 12 months fixed term parental leave position** for a **New Zealand registered Speech and Language Therapist** to join our **Community Rehabilitation team**, a progressive, specialist, interdisciplinary service for assessment and rehabilitation for adults within Te Toka Tumai’s Community and Long-Term Conditions Directorate. We are a team of SLTs, PTs, OTs and Psychologists, who provide intensive, evidence-based and individualised rehabilitation, primarily for people discharging from hospital following a recent medical event and significant change in level of function.

We are a **supportive team** of professionals providing high quality rehabilitation input for the Auckland community. We have a strong inter-disciplinary focus and value collaborative working. We deliver rehabilitation in a flexible, client centred way in the community, clients home, our clinic / gym, telehealth, and in groups settings.

Our **Speech-Language Therapists** offer therapy to clients with a range of communication and swallowing disorders due to a wide variety of conditions. Being part of our community team, we also offer training and development opportunities for video fluoroscopy and also support all our staff in maintaining skills in FEES and tracheostomy with the wider SLT inpatient team where applicable. This role is based at Greenlane Clinical Centre or Point Chevalier Clinical Centre and allows you the opportunity to be part of a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team with strong professional support to enable you to optimise both your profession’s specific practice and a community health focus.
- Undertake a clinical caseload providing comprehensive and evidence-based care
- Work alongside your Allied Health colleagues using an interdisciplinary model to deliver high quality and effective services
- Potential to incorporate clinical education and clinical leadership components
- Contribute to quality and service improvements and development of team members and students as well as themselves
- On the job training with continuous improvement and development opportunities including a well-established in-service training programme.

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhak**e | Important Skills**

To be successful, you will need to have the following skills and attributes:

- Registered member of the **New Zealand Speech-Language Therapists’ Association (NZSTA)** with current Annual Practicing Certificate
- At least one year of post graduate experience as a Speech-Language Therapist in a hospital/community setting
- **Full and current NZ Drivers licence**:

- An understanding of bicultural issues and commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary setting
- Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
- Drive, energy and initiative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- For community-based roles, you will be required to have a valid driver’s license
