Te Harakeke Child, Adolescent & Family Service (CAFS) is the tertiary provider of mental health services to children and youth (0-18) in the Hawkes Bay region. CAFS is proud to be innovative in their service delivery a wide range of mental health services that are culturally appropriate to the communities we serve.

We are looking for a full-time clinician to work with young people and their families to provide co-existing mental health assessments, treatment and support for mental health and substance use problems, based in our Acute, Intake and Assessment Team. This role requires someone with experience working with children and young people, with an understanding of coexisting (substance use and mental health) issues being preferred. The person should have excellent therapeutic skills and mental health experience, informed by evidence based and best practice standards.

Applicants should demonstrate a willingness and commitment to working in partnership with our community, inclusive of Māori and Pacific Island youth services, along with our other government and non-government community partners, including Oranga Tamariki and Ministry of Education.

- Be a registered allied health or nursing professional, preferably with specific experience in co-existing disorders.
- Be familiar with co-existing (mental health and substance use) models of assessment and care.
- Have experience in working with children, youth and families.
- Demonstrate ability to work within the community at all levels.
- Possess a current full drivers’ licence.

New graduates and clinicians with less than two years’ experience who are passionate about working with children and young people with substance use /mental health challenges and keen to upskill are encouraged to apply.
