About the Branch
New Zealand Government Procurement (NZGP) is a branch within The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). We have a vision for New Zealand’s government procurement to be fair, transparent, inclusive, and efficient. It will deliver more value and respond to changing government priorities.

The New Zealand Government Procurement Graduate Programme offers you a unique opportunity to help government agencies achieve their strategic and commercial outcomes. As a Procurement Graduate you will undertake every activity involved in helping obtain the goods and services needed to support daily operations whilst being fair, transparent, inclusive, and efficient.
Me pehea te mahi a te hotaka? - How does the programme actually work?
We offer a two-year programme that consists of four placements of six months, each within the procurement team of a different government agency. In each instance you are given the chance to work across a wide variety of procurement projects while learning from highly experienced and well-regarded procurement practitioners.
You will be given insights across the full procurement lifecycle, from strategy and market analysis through to contract management and everything in between. Additionally, you will develop your skills through mentoring, a buddy programme, networking events and formal and informal training.
All of which means you will gain an exceptional level of critical skill and knowledge that will enable you to accelerate your career.
