- Be part of a system-wide future focused change to how we do government procurement in New Zealand
- Lead a graduate programme aimed at growing upcoming talent
- Join a growing team open to new ideas and ways of working
- Salary range: $101K-$121K
The Opportunity Procurement for the Future is a large system-wide programme that will position government procurement for the future. It aims to elevate the current government procurement system to meet future economic, social and environmental challenges.

Each year government procurement is a vehicle for transforming over $50 billion dollars of public money into valuable outcomes. With that spend comes a huge opportunity to achieve great outcomes for New Zealand and impact our country in a positive and meaningful way.

Achieving this vision will take a cultural shift for public sector procurement and the procurement workforce will need new knowledge, skills and mindsets as the system moves to focus on values-driven outcomes rather than a compliance-based approach.

**Tēnei tūranga - About the Role**: This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the Procurement Graduate programme, a fast-track programme aiming to grow our upcoming talent and expertise in procurement, commercial and relationship management skills. While this role will be working at NZ Government Procurement branch at MBIE, you don’t need to be a procurement professional.

You will be responsible for the strategy, management and delivery of the end-to-end procurement graduate programme, including planning, recruitment, development and wider performance management throughout the programme. This role holds keys relationships with wider agencies as well as the other functions that support successful delivery of the programme.

Reporting to the Manager Procurement Workforce and Capability, within New Zealand Government Procurement (NZGP), you will be part of a growing team. You will have the opportunity to mentor and coach other members of the team.

Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and Experience Required

**We are keen to hear from you if you have**:

- Ability to lead and manage a team
- Strong organisational skills, with experience delivering a complex programme of work, with multiple deliverables.
- Influencing skills and experience providing great customer service, building and delivering solutions that meet customer expectations.
- Proven ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships with a range of diverse stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.
- The ability to be flexible and to quickly adapt to programme needs.

Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or New Zealand permanent residents and be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearances.

This is a full-time role. We are open to you working flexibly in a full-time role. Talk to us about what will work for you.
Why work for us? New Zealand Government Procurement, a branch within MBIE, helps government agencies achieve greater public value by delivering procurement excellence. We provide the government's procurement functional leadership objectives through a collaborative, centre-led approach. We help government agencies with building procurement capability, providing support, advice and expertise, and make procurement management easier through systems and frameworks that support quality decision making.

We aim to create a culture where staff are empowered to bring fresh perspectives to issues and to think outside the box. We encourage excellence and proactively support development through on-the-job learning, training courses, and development programmes.
