**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**

Are you passionate about sustainable transportation and eager to gain hands-on experience in fleet management? Auckland Council is looking for a dynamic and motivated Workplace Travel Intern to join our team
Situated within the Corporate Support Services Department, the Workplace Travel team is responsible managing the Council Group vehicle fleet of approximately 1000 vehicles. Providing Council Group Kamahi, the appropriate travel options that enable them to effectively perform their roles is an integral part of this tight knit teams’ responsibilities. Reducing the Council Group fleets CO2 emissions and ensuring that the fleet is fully optimised and delivering great value for Aucklanders is also a key outcome for the team.

As a workplace support intern, you will
- Assist in the management and maintenance of the Council’s vehicle fleet.
- Support the implementation of sustainable travel initiatives.
- Coordinate vehicle bookings and ensure efficient utilisation of the fleet.
- Conduct regular inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Designed for students in their penultimate year of a bachelor's degree, or in a continued masters programme, this paid three-month summer internship, running from 18th November 2024 to 14 February 2025, offers full-time work that aligns with your field of study.

You'll engage in meaningful work, contributing to the development of Auckland as a world-class city, while receiving career development opportunities.

As an intern, you'll be immersed in a supportive environment, with mentorship and networking opportunities that pave the way for a potential future within the council. You’ll be part of Auckland Council’s internship whānau and will be supported every step of the way by a team who want you to succeed including a buddy, liaison, Careers Team, and the wider intern cohort.

Upon completion, interns may receive priority consideration for the Graduate Programme, setting the stage for a robust career start.

You are a proactive and customer-focused individual with a passion for delivering exceptional internal customer service.
- Be in your penultimate year studying towards a relevant Bachelor's degree, or continuing into a Master’s level of study in 2025.
- Be eligible to work in New Zealand full-time from November 2024- February 2025
- Must have a NZ restricted Driver’s License
- Business
