We are seeking energetic part time Whānau Support workers for two of our families in Warkworth. The role is around 10 hours a fortnight with increasing of hours as the relationship builds. We are needing a Support worker who is available in the afternoons and weekends.

What does a Support Worker do?

You will support young people in their home and community to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives to achieve their personal dreams and goals by doing the things they want to do such as going swimming, attending sporting events, arts and crafts, movies or shopping - the list is endless

We're looking for people with the following skills:
Experience working with young people is advantageous

Availability to work after school hours and weekends

Can connect and build a positive relationship with people through provision of consistent support

Are energetic and passionate about supporting people to achieve their goals, hopes and dreams

Have an ability to look beyond presenting barriers and provide experiences that will empower people to live the best life they can

A desire to support people to learn new skills and achieve outcomes

Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness is important in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
