**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

As part of the wider PPC team, the PPC Advisor is responsible for providing timely, high quality practical and operational HR advice and support to our people leaders (including whare and Area Manager teams) in accordance with company policy, best practice and relevant NZ legislation.

Developing line management capability in HR practice is a key part of the role, supporting managers with best practice HR solutions and the delivery of relevant and practical HR tools, frameworks and guidelines to enable this.

You will develop and maintain a broad knowledge of the business to enable an integrated approach to key initiatives in all areas of human resources management to ensure consistency and alignment with the overall strategic direction and performance objectives of Te Roopu Taurima.

Being a generalist role, you will provide timely, consistent coaching, advice and support on all aspects of HR including performance management, recruitment, induction/onboarding, employment relations, ACC case management, remuneration, recognition and reward, and leadership development.

In terms of employment relations, you are confident in managing this process from start to conclusion. As with most advisor positions there is also the daily administration tasks such as preparing offer letters, employment agreements, and other relevant documentation. We work at pace and we are also involved in exciting projects that help develop the whole organisation.

You will be joining a small team of professionals which includes two existing advisors responsible for the Waitaha, Waikato, Auckland and Te Tai Tokerau regions. This role will share the responsibility for Auckland and Te Tai Tokerau however we are strong collaborators and share workload as needed.

This role would suit a person with an understanding of people, social science and/or organisational development. We are a kaupapa Maori organisation with the welfare of intellectually disabled tāngata at our core, this should give you an indication of the type of person we are seeking to join our team.

Some domestic travel is a requirement of the role as is a full NZ driver licence. We are currently based in Otahuhu with possible relocation to a more central location next year.

You are comfortable with people despite their role, background, views and opinions; you make relationships work. You will become a trusted and reliable advisor with a collaborative approach, able to build trust and influence from the onset.

You embrace technology and have a strong level of competency across the Microsoft office suite and HRIS systems. Given the nature of the role we must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills especially written communication. Accuracy and attention to detail with spelling, grammar and appropriate context is essential.

An understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural issues and concerns, in particular, knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples’ culture would be advantageous.

A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline is desirable.
