Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The Investment Monitoring team provides project analysis to monitor the performance of our key infrastructure projects. The team monitors these projects from their early definition stage to detailed planning and finally into delivery.
The Principal Advisor provides advice and leadership to the work of the Investment Monitoring team. This role will provide expert advice to improve the quality of delivery of the group's work programmes and provide narrative and dashboard style reporting to key internal clients and Ministers. Key responsibilities include the delivery of strategic and operational policy and advice in support of investment monitoring and the broader IIG work programmes.

Building collaborative and positive relationships across the Directorate, Agency and the wider health sector, whilst sill contributing to and supporting the Health Infrastructure team to develop and strengthen the overall capital decision making.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- Solid senior-level experience in business or reporting analysis, well-versed in government machinery, and experience providing high quality advice (ideally) within a project and programme delivery environment.
- Ability to lead the identification and implementation of new tools and processes to enhance the capital monitoring, analysing, and reporting activities within the team
- Demonstrated analytical ability, critical thinking, and sound judgment, in particular, the ability to analyse complex information and identify risks at a project, portfolio, and programme level
- Strong understanding of project budgets and the impacts of scope and time variances
- Understanding government and public policy machinery is preferred but not necessary.

- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a willingness to learn and grow
