We are looking for an experienced engagement professional to take on the role of Principal Advisor Engagement in our Online Gambling Implementation team.

This is an exciting 18 month fixed-term opportunity where you’ll get to work within a multi-disciplinary environment to build and implement a new online gambling regulatory system, and support transition into regulatory BAU.

The Principal Advisor Engagement will be responsible for developing and implementing an engagement approach so that stakeholders, including international stakeholders, are aware of the regime and familiar with the requirements of the proposed new regulatory system. This will include the processes to engage with the auction pre-qualifying process, the auction itself and the subsequent issue of licences - as well as expectations of the regulator once the system is operating. This will involve engagement with other stakeholders involved in the regulatory system and educating the general public.

This is a new regulatory initiative for New Zealand. Overseas gambling is regulated in many overseas jurisdictions, and it is expected that New Zealand will look to relevant overseas counterparts in planning for its introduction here.

You will need to be comfortable working with ambiguity - because we haven’t done this before in New Zealand. One of the key attributes that will be required is the ability to work alongside others in a fast-paced environment, solving complex problems through collaboration.

The Principal Advisor Engagement will report to the Manager Engagement in the Online Gambling Implementation team. You will be working in close partnership with other workstream leads in the implementation group as well as policy, legal and communication teams.

To be successful in this role you will need to have robust experience within a fast-paced environment, sound thought leadership experience and have a proven track record of developing strong engagement plans and providing educative information across a range of mediums to a broad range of regulated parties and the public.
