**The Role**

We are seeking a
**Contract Logistics Team Leader** to join our busy team in
**Auckland**, New Zealand.

This position is responsible for the coordination of warehouse staff to ensure all freight movements are carried out in a timely and professional manner. You will also be required to motivate the warehouse team by creating a strong team environment with good team work ethics in order to provide professional customer service to both internal and external clients.

**Departmental/Operational Key Responsibilities may include**:

- Pro-actively plan, lead, organize and control warehouse staff to ensure successful daily completion on a timely basis in order to meet / exceed customer expectations
- Ensure absolute compliance to client procedures and business SOP’s
- Ensure that the duties assigned to the warehouse staff are effectively accomplished
- Comply with all regulatory requirements as they relate to a fully bonded warehouse as well as Customs, MPI, RACA requirements
- Satisfy and respond to the needs of both external and internal customers
- Keep the Warehouse Supervisor informed of any adverse events and determine corrective actions
- Monitor costs and expenses within agreed budget levels and report the reasons for any budget variances
- Ensure warehouse staff's start / finish times are kept to the rostered times. Provide explanations for any variances outside these times
- Create an environment that staff become self motivated to achieve the agreed targets set
- Constantly strive for productivity improvements by recommending and implementing improved warehouse practices
- Active input in managing staff levels and weekly rosters in conjunction with business needs and the Warehouse Supervisor to suit the varying customer demands
- Pro-actively recommend training requirements for self and/or your team members

**Competencies and Skills required**:

- Fork Hoist Licence
- RACA Approval
- Avsec Security Pass
- MPI AP/TFO Certificate
- Sound working knowledge / experience of Warehouse department functions
- Strong understanding of Freight Forwarding systems including Import and Export Operations
- An ability to deliver accurate work within deadlines and manage multiple tasks with a ‘can do’ attitude
- A strong customer focus (internal & external) - exceed expectations
- Ability to basic report writing (intermediate level computer literacy)
- Be required to work flexible hours in order to meet the customer’s fluctuating work requirements
- Sound knowledge of relevant industry legislation
- Leading and motivating team of subordinates to achieve strategic goals
