**The Opportunities - Grow your Payroll career**
We are looking for motivated, career-orientated people to join our National Payroll team, based in our Invercargill office. We provide a Managed payroll service to a number of our clients so you will work on a variety of different businesses and company payrolls and enjoy working at pace, where no day is the same
This role will give you a fantastic opportunity to develop strong technical skills, grow with our business, to learn from an experienced team, as well as consistently add value to the business.
**What will your typical week look like?**
Depending on your level of experience you would be responsible for:
- You would manage the expectations of relevant stakeholders around the completion of these tasks and develop the technical knowledge within the Payroll Team to ensure internal and client service standards are met
- Provide backup and technical support to the Payroll Manager, including covering pays, processing taxation, KiwiSaver and relevant pay run reports or reconciliations
- Providing technical payroll knowledge/around legislation and software packages and providing training and mentoring to team members
- Assist with the end-to-end processing of payroll, including PAYE obligations and filing the returns
- Assist with payroll-related queries, internal and external reporting and engage with the wider business
- Assist with other projects and payroll-related work that arise from time to time

**Let’s talk about you**
- You may have experience working in payroll combined with strong interpersonal skills, and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Curiosity and a keenness to learn is essential
- You may be working in administration and want to develop a career-focused skillset, providing opportunities for progression, and a change from your current tasks
- You may be a school leaver, who is wanting to kick start a career, working in payroll, in an environment that offers support, training, and future work opportunities
Other desirables include:
- Working knowledge of payroll and legislative requirements.
- Experience using various payroll software systems
- Be highly customer-focused, ensuring the highest standards of service and confidentiality
- Be a driven self-starter who understands the ‘must have’ steps in order to complete a pay run
- Computer literacy across a range of Microsoft products in particular Excel
