The Waimakariri District Council serves a community of 70,000 that is experiencing rapid growth with a high rate of development accompanied by corresponding demands on our environmental health functions. We are bringing these services back in-house.
The Council is seeking an Environmental Health Officer to work full time (40 hours) within the Environmental Health Team of the Services Unit based in Rangiora.
To be successful in this position, you will be an all-rounder and have plenty of experience in food safety and verifications, alcohol licensing and with businesses operating under a health licence.
You'll be a strong team player, great communicator, problem solver, and your ability to provide technical assistance to stakeholders is a must. No day will be the same You'll have a degree/diploma in Environmental Health Science or an equivalent relevant tertiary qualification in accordance with the Environmental Health Officers Qualifications Regulations 1992.
