Formed in 2020, Neptune Pacific Line acquired Pacific Direct Line, bringing together two of the South Pacific’s top shipping and logistics companies to support the full supply chain of our customers in the region. NPDL is part of The Wonderful Company headquartered in Los Angeles, CA. Its other companies include FIJI Water, Justin and Landmark Vineyards, Vintage Nurseries, Wonderful Citrus, Wonderful Pistachios, Teleflora, POM Wonderful and Suterra.

**Job Description**:
We are currently looking for a **Senior Financial Analyst** to join our hardworking and tightknit team on a 12-month fixed term contract. In this exciting position, you'll collaborate closely with dynamic cross-functional teams across our organization, immersing yourself in the ever-evolving landscape of global shipping. Your role will encompass the full spectrum of analysis, from crafting templates and identifying data needs to extracting and skillfully manipulating data. A key highlight of this role is the art of transforming extensive data and analytical findings into a compelling narrative, ensuring that complex information is distilled into a clear, easily digestible story with actionable insights. Join us in this pivotal role where your analytical prowess will shape impactful narratives within the dynamic world of shipping.

The reason for this fixed term role is to backfill the current incumbent who has been seconded to a global project to enhance our commitment to continuous improvement.

**Here is some of what you will be doing**:

- Analysing large volumes of data and presenting in a concise and intuitive manner
- Interpreting data to explain past financial performance and project future results
- Developing and executing the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, focusing on the underlying business drivers, key financial and operating metrics and relative sensitivity analysis
- Developing and managing reports for forecasting, sales trends, and financial results analysis, including presentation of financials to senior management
- Collaborating with cost and revenue center managers to discuss financial results, monitor budget adherence, forecast, and ensure good financial decision-making
- Preparing voyage estimates, shipping reports and monthly close (including variance explanations and journal entries)
- Utilising CargoWise (current ERP), Power BI, and Excel to develop and communicate value-added reporting tools
- Proactively identifying issues and opportunities to provide value-added analysis to improve business performance
- Assisting with ad-hoc analytical projects

As you will be dealing with tight quarterly deadlines, the ability to complete highly accurate analysis of a large range of data will be one of your key strengths.

**Qualifications**:
**Here’s what you’ll bring to the table**:

- A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics or a related field is preferred
- 5+ years of relevant experience in FP&A or a related field - experience in the shipping industry would be considered highly advantageous
- CA or CPA accreditation would be a plus, with experience in a Big 4 environment
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, with Power BI and CargoWise experience a plus.
- Strong analytics and strategic thinking skills

This role will require you to bring a “roll up your sleeves” approach, as we are a very hands-on, detailed organisation where going to invoice level data is not uncommon. You are a collaborative team player who builds strong relationships across functional lines and thrives on adding value. This is a 12-month fixed term role based in either Parnell or our Richard Pearce Drive (Airport) office.

You are also someone who can balance a busy schedule with shifting priorities - nothing phases you We are looking for an independent self-starter with a strong ability to relay your findings to a wide audience. With a consultative approach, and a resilient and positive outlook, your ability to think conceptually and to logically analyse information will be key to your success in the role.
