At Manatū Hauora - Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance. We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters.
The Financial Accounting team is responsible for running the day-to-day financial operations for the Ministry, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing functions and preparing financial statements and the analysis of financial data.
Ko ake mahi - What you'll do
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be providing high quality analytical advice, insights and modelling to the financial accounting team and wider Ministry. You will support financial accounting in providing timely, complete and accurate financial information.
**Tasks will include, but are not limited to**:

- Providing consistent and high-quality analytics and advice
- Providing support to the Purchasing function of the team
- Processing and assessing the validity of month end journals and accruals
- Analysing and reviewing monthly transactions and producing variance analysis
- Ensuring the integrity of the General Ledger
- Building reports, models and providing clear communication to support the business's understanding of financial data
- Building and maintaining collaborative and positive relationships across the Ministry and with external stakeholders
- Ensure all work reflects our responsibilities to the priority of equity and meeting Treaty of Waitangi obligations

Ko pūkenga - What you'll bring
- Qualified Chartered Accountant / Tertiary qual in finance or economics
- Ability to analyse and probe to understand underlying financial drivers
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
- Proven ability to set priorities and meet deadlines under pressure
