The Ministry for Primary Industries are currently recruiting for a Senior Adviser - Native Afforestation Nursery Advice, to join our Forest Engagement & Advice directorate, which forms part of our wider Te Uru Rākau - New Zealand Forest Service business unit based in Wellington.

Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
This is your opportunity to be part of a new team and play a key role in supporting New Zealand to meet its climate targets. The Senior Adviser - Native Afforestation Nursery is responsible for supporting the development of, and putting in place, training and other support needed within the native nursery sector to address barriers for existing nurseries to expand.

**The key accountabilities of this position include**:

- Building understanding of barriers for existing nurseries to expand
- Development and implementation of mitigations for those barriers
- Design and delivery of approaches to implement the work plan for nursery training and capability
- Working with the nursery sector to build support networks and engagement
- Contributing to the development, documentation, review and reporting of the wider Native Afforestation Project

Mōu - About You
To be successful in this role, you will be someone who loves to build collaborative relationships to deliver projects.
You will have strong experience in gathering, organising, and communicating information, as well as being able to quickly understand the nature of problems and identify solutions. You will also have experience managing deadlines and prioritising work.
Importantly, you will be confident and experienced in establishment and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels including Māori, Government, and non-governmental agencies.

**Specifically, your experience will include**:

- Experience in the nursery sector, working with nurseries or a similar working environment
- Experience in establishing and effectively maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders, Maori and Government and non-governmental agencies
- Experience in managing projects and work programmes
- Experience in education/training
