Apparel represents a key category for the business and we’re looking for a couple of Designers (for permanent, 12 month parental leave contract), exceptional creative talents with strong collaborative approach to join our talented and passionate in-house Design team

Job Description

Our in-house Design team is the creative conduit in the business - working alongside our buying and sourcing departments to design our clothing and apparel ranges, our Designers play the important part in designing and adding to the building of our private label and licensed range in a cohesive way - working from concept to artwork set up and all elements in between.

This is a rewarding opportunity where your work will end up on our shelves in front of our customers so a true customer mindset and ability to design fitting business and commercial needs is a must Your wheelhouse of graphic, têxtile and product design skills and experience will help deliver exciting, must-have trend focused ranges

A snapshot of the role will see you:

- Trend forecasting key items, colours, fabrics, details and products for seasonal launches for the apparel categories including women and menswear.
- Apparel range and graphics design
- Work collaboratively with buying and sourcing teams to curate and build cohesive ranges

Qualifications

You will be someone who enjoys a dynamic and varied role with a great eye, passion for trends and graphic design More importantly you’ll have the ability to translate these ideas into products our will customers love A passionate team player who showcases the curiosity and collaboration approach. We work in the dynamic, fast-paced retail environment with key deadlines and pathways; nimble to change with strong ability to adapt quickly to priorities and deliver to tight deadlines will be key
- Proven intermediate to senior level designer experience including taking product from concept through execution and partnering with overseas manufacturers
- Demonstrated creative ability including graphics, têxtile design, visual merchandising
- Commercial sense working within a retail environment
- Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator & Photoshop
- Experience working across women, mens, youth apparel ranges desirable
- Bonus if you have knowledge in Browzwear, and Te Ao Māori and Te Reo Māori
