Te tūranga - The roleThis role is located within the Prudential Supervision Directorate, they are responsible for the prudential oversight and risk assessment of financial entities in New Zealand, across the deposit-taking, insurance and financial market infrastructure sectors.You are responsible for leading, supporting and guiding the team to continue providing high quality supervision across a portfolio of allocated entities - including workflow management, strategic oversight, reviewing of analytical risk assessments and the proposed supervisory responses.Some of your other responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic direction on the supervision of regulated entities.
- Lead industry engagement with supervised entities, industry bodies and other regulators.
- Ensure appropriate escalation to senior management of any circumstances that could be indicators of entity distress or failure, evaluate solutions and implement enhanced supervision in conjunction with other parts of the Financial Stability Group.
- Set a clear direction and line of sight with the Bank's objectives and support the team to effectively navigate change.
- Prioritise the performance and growth of people through regular coaching and development conversations.
- Foster a work environment that is inclusive, safe, trusted and equitable.

- At least 10 years' relevant professional experience in the fields of banking, insurance, financial markets, law, accounting, macroeconomics, economics, or other central banks.
- Good judgement of people, practices and situations to identify actual or potential problems in supervised entities.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, influencing and interpersonal skills.
- Proven relationship management experience at all levels across a broad range of stakeholders, with the ability to tailor approach to meet different stakeholders' requirements.
