With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.

MidCentral is a great place to come to consolidate your learning, preparing you for registrar positions. As a medium sized hospital we provide a wide range of opportunities, including tertiary level cancer treatment services.

The city of Palmerston North is very liveable and affordable. 5 - 15 minute commutes are the norm and there is lots to do on your down time.

As a 2nd year House Officer or Senior House Officer you will have the opportunity for 3 to 6 month rotations in:

- Cardiology
- Renal
- Urology
- ENT
- Orthopaedics
- Surgical Relief
- Medical Relief
- Emergency Medicine
- Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- Psychiatry
- Paediatric
- Haematology
- Medical Oncology
- Radiation Oncology
- Geriatric Medicine including outpatient clinics

The House Officers and Senior House Officers are well supported in a collegial environment with Registrars and Senior Medical Officers.
