Te Whakahaerenga/The Organisation

Nurse Maude is a well-known and highly regarded organisation, who have been providing healthcare services to the community for over 120 years. We have recently been contracted by the New Zealand Nursing Council to administer OSCEs as part of the registration process for internationally qualified nurses, to take place in a custom-built Simulation and Assessment Centre on our premises in Merivale, Christchurch.

Te Mahi/About the Position

Located in central Merivale, the OSCE's will take place on week-days.

Key aspects of the role include:

- Proficiently utilising the electronic assessment software.
- Providing support and assistance in the setup, calibration, inspection, maintenance and operation of simulation centre stations.
- Supporting and guiding human patient simulators (Assessment Support) in the simulation centre station.
- Ensuring the OSCE station is consistently set up, as outlined in the scenario instructions, for examinations in the Centre.
- Attending ongoing training and calibration sessions, as required, to ensure efficient and high-quality delivery of clinical examinations.
- Maintaining examination integrity of assessment processes at all times.

He momo/About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

- A Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent).
- A current New Zealand APC, without restrictions or notifications.
- At least 5 years' experience working as a Registered Nurse in New Zealand.
- Experience working with/ supporting new graduate nurses.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong report writing ability.
- Strong IT skills, quick to learn.
- The ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.
- Sound understanding of the role of regulation in health.
- An open mind and positive outlook.
