Are you passionate about fostering equitable education outcomes and supporting wharekura and schools to deliver credible assessments? NZQA is seeking a dynamic education professional to join our Wellington-based team as a School Relationship Manager Maori.

In this role you will:

- Support wharekura with quality assurance of their assessment practice ensuring robust and credible outcomes.
- Contribute to systems improvement and broader initiatives, like implementation of changes to NCEA.

This is an ideal position if you:

- Are dedicated to ensuring the quality and credibility of New Zealand's secondary school qualification.
- Are committed to promoting equitable education outcomes for all akonga.
- Thrive on working both independently and within a team.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

- Leadership experience in assessment, such as a Principal's Nominee or senior/middle management role.
- Strong expertise in Te Reo Maori and tikanga Maori, and the ability to operate effectively in Maori settings.
- Proven ability to analyse assessment systems and lead evidence-based improvements.

This Wellington-based position offers the opportunity to work directly with schools and wharekura across your regional allocation, requiring regular travel to build strong, meaningful relationships. We welcome discussions about secondment opportunities for those not ready to leave the teaching profession permanently.
