As the Fleet Manager you report to the National Facilities and Workplace Manager being responsible for the strategic and operational management of MBIE’s vehicle fleet. You will work to ensure that the fleet is safe, well-maintained, and efficient, while also reducing carbon emissions by end of 2025.

Reporting to the National Manager Facilities and Workplace further key duties include:

- Procure a fit-for-purpose, safe, and cost-effective vehicle fleet that minimizes our carbon footprint.
- Develop and implement a transport strategy for MBIE.
- Oversee transport and fleet operations for compliance with New Zealand law and regulations.
- Manage vehicle maintenance and service budgets, accident management, and repairs.
- Work with Health, Safety, and Security Operations and Learning and Development to ensure driver safety training is relevant and fit-for-purpose.
- Oversee the vehicle fleet supplier contract compliance and performance to deliver the best long-term value for MBIE. Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and Experience Required
- Previous experience managing a fleet related function in a large complex organisation.
- A minimum of 8+ years previous experience managing fleets across various business groups within an organisation.
- Strong negotiator and influencer, adept at quickly establishing and building strong working relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Previous relevant experience of managing on the development and implementation of organisational strategy in relation to vehicle fleets.
- Experience in managing responses to requests from staff for support in fleet requirements.
- Sound understanding and knowledge of fleet management concepts and skills. Ētahi kōrero mō MBIE - About MBIE:
