**He angitūtanga | About the role**

We're looking for our next Customer Service Centre Agent to join the organisational support unit based in the Hamilton office. This role will require you to be a quick learner and have the ability to understand how to educate and respond to a variety of queries from the general public.

This position will see you liaising with the general public effectively and efficiently as you direct callers to the appropriate team across the Department of Conservation. One minute you could be forwarding messages through regarding compliance work, the next you could be directing our callers to the operations team with a potential stranding across our shores. No day will look the same. You will have the appropriate support from your team with Call Service Centre Agents being situated across Aotearoa.

This permanent position is 0.5 FTE rostered for our afternoon shift and will require you to be in the office Monday to Friday. The afternoon position will run from 12.30 pm to 4.30 pm where you will handover from the Customer Service Centre Agent working in the morning.

This position will require you to be able to think on your feet, multi-task as you meet high demanding needs and can build a great rapport with a variety of internal and external personal.

This could be the job for you if you have some of the following attributes or skills:

- great phone manner and the ability to be calm under pressure
- think on your feet and be able to prioritize a variety of tasks
- have great Microsoft Office skills and the ability to report and summarise on your works
- be able to manage conflicting queries and provide the appropriate advice
- have clear and concise communication and be able to deliver a message efficiently
- previous call centre experience preferred.

The salary range for this position is $51,278 to $60,578 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
