As a Senior Finance Systems Specialist, you will play a pivotal role within our Finance Systems team, actively contributing to the transformation of our financial systems. You'll leverage cutting-edge SAAS products, with a primary emphasis on our ERP solution, to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

Your responsibilities will include gaining deep expertise in the Finance Systems and Operations landscape, enabling you to spearhead ongoing enhancements and innovations. Additionally, you'll mentor junior team members, fostering their skill development. You will take charge of system administration tasks and lead the implementation of new initiatives aimed at advancing our finance systems.

**What you'll do...**:

- Working closely with leadership to develop or improve frameworks and processes within the team to better deliver on tasks through the lens of an SME.
- Develop a clear understanding of and provide input into the features on the financial systems roadmap. Support delivery to that roadmap with your team alongside the other system Accountants.
- Drive the completion of routine and ad-hoc Finance systems administration tasks across the Accounting, Tax, Payroll and Financial planning & analysis teams, and identify and propose improvements based on your experience and research.
- Educate the Finance team on best use of systems. Contribute to documented guidelines and related content to support this process.
- Development of reports, queries, and dashboard enhancements.
- Perform moderate to high level development on Xero’s ERP system. Including but not limited to writing of new scripts and creating workflows while maintaining and enhancing those that are already in place.
- Making, documenting and executing evidence-based decisions and approaches, following best-practice principles; and escalating for review where needed.
- Collaborating with peers as a coach where needed, enabling them to work more independently while allowing you to further develop your coaching attributes, and to assist those around you as the ERP SME.
- Be a leading example within the team by delivering on expectations and owning mistakes. Ultimately living the Xero values.
- Ensure key collaboration, quality controls and processes are followed and carried out in an efficient manner, as well as engaging with the necessary stakeholders to fully understand, communicate and document process, workflows, requirements and solutions.
- Where required, assist your People Lead to qualify and analyse work requests with a clear understanding of purpose, audience and intended approach.
- Work closely with your People Lead to set expectations for delivery, based on best understanding estimations and fostering a culture of collective ownership and accountability for the work completed within the team.
- Ensuring a high quality of internal control is maintained, including change management for the Sandbox & Production environments.
- Development of testing plans/documentation and establishing standard templates for these processes.
- Play a vital role in resolving any ERP or broader finance system issues by conducting thorough investigations independently, while also collaborating with our vendors and third-party support teams when necessary.
- Participating in new finance system implementations with a key focus on our ERP.

**Experience you'll bring with you...**:

- 5+ years experience in ERP administration, configuration and development (eg creating and implementing workflows, scripts, saved searches, integrations). Preferably Netsuite
- 5+ years hands-on experience of business requirements gathering and solution delivery as a System Accountant or System Analyst within FMIS administration
- Accounting knowledge or experience.
- Experience with drafting and delivering documentation related to cloud and/or bespoke deliverables and customers - this includes business cases, solution documents and technical/functional specifications.
- Previous experience where you have acted as an escalation point would be beneficial.
- Previous experience with system implementation where you were a key contributor will be beneficial
