We are seeking a talented and passionate **Technical Director or Senior Consultant - Engagement **to join GHD's engagement services area working with a network of over 70 communication and engagement services consultants across New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific to achieve GHD's vision of creating lasting community benefit.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for you to work with the Group Manager, National Planning to continue to build the team and explore new opportunities for GHD in continuing to ensure that water, energy and urbanisation are made sustainable for generations to come.

**In this role, you will**:

- Develop and realise business opportunities that will support the growth of engagement services
- Provide engagement and communication services to a variety of public and private sector clients working as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team across a variety of industries
- Be working on projects delivering stakeholder engagement, communication and social planning services
- Work closely with planning and engagement team members and Sector Leaders to build new client networks as well as foster and grow existing client relationships
- Lead major bids, proposals and preparation of engagement services marketing material
- Work with other senior members of the team and the wider GHD business to support and grow our technical skills within the engagement service line
- Provide technical leadership to ensure a comprehensive approach to social planning and GHD's broad range of projects
- Contribute as part of a dynamic national team that works collaboratively across our GHD regions to deliver services across NZ
- Be challenged, grow and develop professionally through opportunities such as mentoring, active involvement in professional organisations, GHD global technical communities and working on complex projects with our leading technical specialists
- Be involved in our diverse, collaborative and supportive GHD culture.

**What you will bring to the team**:

- Tertiary qualified with 10 or more years experience in social planning and engagement
- Membership of the IAP2 and/or NZPI (desirable)
- Strong knowledge of national, regional and local government planning and engagement processes
- Proven track record in the delivery of complex engagement services for strategic planning and/or infrastructure projects
- Enthusiasm to work collaboratively with other technical disciplines and think laterally to deliver solutions on multi-disciplinary projects
- Established client relationships and networks
- Demonstrable skills in people management, mentoring, coaching and/or providing technical leadership
- Project Management experience including programmes and financials
- Self motivated and energetic with a flexible approach to challenges and a strong Project/Client problem solving focus
