Senior Security Technician
Here at Datacom, we are seeking the best of the best in the physical security space to join our highly acclaimed and rapidly growing security practise.
The Role
As a Senior Security Technician, this role will see you responsible for IP based access control, intrusion detection, alarm, video management and analytics installation. This will include producing and documenting designs, specifying equipment, producing quotes, writing as built, supervising and performing installations with expertise and experience to complete physical security projects based on the Genetec, Milestone and / or Gallagher Platforms. This role has a primary focus in the area of Access Control and Video Management design, implementation managing the site installations including arranging of equipment, resources and managing other team members onsite.
This role is also expected to assist in the support of physical security solutions for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Engaging with clients to gather requirements and/or to discuss technical solutions to their security and or other business issues
- Design of solutions, specifying equipment and producing quotes
- Implementation of security solutions utilising solutions from Genetec, Milestone and Gallagher. Including access control, alarm management, intrusion detection, video, license plate recognition and video analytics.
- Support of existing security solution sites
- Scheduling installations including internal and external resources
- Manage equipment and resources during site installations
- Attending security product training and passing the relevant certification exam
- Ensure code of conduct and guidelines required under NZ PSPLA is adhered to at all times.

We are looking for a self-starter to assist in opportunities, deployments and support. Most of all you will be a motivated team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to constantly strive for better. You will need:

- Five plus years of security implementation and support experience
- Current security industry and product qualifications
- Customer support skills for CCTV solutions up to 3rd Level Support
- Cabling installation
- At height work
- Security solution builds, configuration and installation
- Thorough understanding of technologies solutions offered by the team
- Certification in one or more of the areas listed above
- Video Management
- License Plate Recognition
- Access Control
- Video Analytics
- Related security solution products
