- We have over 1,300 staff working together across 13 locations to keep the power on and the lights going for our customers.
- Due to internal promotion, an exciting permanent part-time opportunity has become available for a Graduate Design Estimator to join our Whangarei Projects team. You will be working across a range of Customer Initiated Works and Network Maintenance and Capital projects.
- You’ll be going onsite to scope, design and price these projects and ensure the appropriate standards, safety and regulations are met.**The role**- Be responsible for design, pricing, planning and tender preparation for projects in the electrical distribution sector.
- Assess, develop and implement the most cost effective and efficient methodology and procedures; without compromising safety, environmental and quality requirements.
- Liaise with the project delivery team to ensure that they are fully aware of the scoped work requirements.
- Identify potential problems and/or delays and communicate proactively to clients and customers
- Update our computer systems at all stages of design/quote process with key information
- Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships with internal and external customers.

**About you**
If you have some experience working in the electricity sector, this would be the perfect opportunity for you to get your ‘foot into the door’ and work for a leading utilities business.
- You will be a natural communicator and enjoy liaising with multiple people and departments, and juggling with multiple tasks comes naturally to you. You’ll also have:
- A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Knowledge of electricity distribution network and electricity regulations.
- Previous experience in electrical design and estimating is preferable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Great computer skills with intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office suite
- Knowledge of working on a customer management system like JDE (preferable not essential)
