**About the team**

Our collaborative Procurement Services Team supports and enables the wider Procurement and Supply Team and Transpower through the development of procurement policy, guidance and tools, the provision of specialist procurement advice, and the provision of inventory, category and procurement information, reporting and system development oversight.

**About the opportunity**

As a Procurement Specialist, based in Wellington, Auckland or Christchurch, your main focus will be to influence and enhance Transpower's procurement effectiveness to ensure we derive maximum value from our suppliers and projects.

You'll work closely with our business teams to understand the 'why' behind certain processes and activities, and provide specialist coaching and advice to ensure we're making commercially sound decisions that follow best practice. With no two projects or stakeholders the same, you'll enjoy heaps of variety and gain a thorough understanding of our fascinating sector and how it operates

**What will you bring?**

A relevant tertiary qualification and/ or equivalent experience in a relevant field coupled with well-developed negotiation and communication skills. Your considered approach to problem solving and continuous improvement will help us to increase effectiveness and efficiency wherever possible, and get the best value and commercial outcomes for the business while providing appropriate levels of governance and assurance.

A genuine team player, you'll take satisfaction in supporting other team members to ensure our customers receive a seamless service.

**To be considered, your experience to date, CV and cover letter will demonstrate**:

- Expertise in mediating between disparate stakeholder and interest groups
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Experience in working within a project environment
- Understanding of, and delivery experience in, the principles of procurement including planning, sourcing and contracting
- Broad understanding of various commercial and contracting frameworks - such as NZS3910 and payment mechanisms
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and workloads.
- Collaborative team member with the ability to work with cross functional and cross organisational teams.
