We are Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland. We provide health and disability services to more than half a million people living in central Auckland, regional services for Northland and greater Auckland, and specialist national services for the whole of New Zealand. Our main sites are Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre and Starship Children’s Hospital, located in central Auckland.
We are part of Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, the overarching organisation for New Zealand’s national health service. Te Whatu Ora leads the day-to-day running of the health system, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels.

**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
We are looking for an experience Operations Manager for our Forensic Pathology service based at Auckland City Hospital. This permanent position could be an amazing opportunity for someone who wants to be a part of the NZ’s largest forensic pathology service and do their bit to make a difference.
In this role, you will work alongside the Clinical Director to provide operational and strategic direction to the Forensic Pathology Service. This will involve providing leadership and managing the staff, technology, resources and systems in order to achieve the departments business and operational goals. The key responsibilities include:
- Leading the Forensic Pathology Department to deliver outstanding operational efficiency, effectiveness and service for its current population
- Building capability and competency within the department
- Design and implementation of process improvements, lead and deliver strategic projects
- Develop relationships across the region and explore opportunities for collaboration

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**
This position is suited to an experienced manager with strong leadership skills, and extensive operational knowledge, who can communicate a vision for the future and inspiring commitment to the goals of the department and organisation as a whole. Ideally you will have tertiary qualification in health service management or relevant faculty and sound knowledge of NZ health sector.
You will possess a well-developed ability to work professionally with a range of internal and external stakeholders. We know you’ll be proactive, highly committed and service driven and be able to meet the demands of a fast-paced role with ease. You will be surefooted and need to be across the necessary detail to manage complex issues and agile enough to make the most of opportunities. Your strong evidence of an ability to develop a culture of innovation, performance and transparency focused on the customer will be paramount.
