Auckland Transport (AT) keeps Auckland moving We plan and fund public transport, promote and initiate alternative ways to get around the city, operate and maintain the local road network, and manage parking and traffic systems.

We are committed to working to shape our city by delivering transport choices to get Aucklanders' where they want, when they want. We care for Auckland's transport system and we are looking for a Senior Publicity Specialist to help us on this journey.

This is a critical role for AT as you will be a key storyteller who champions our services, programmes and projects to wider outcomes, and helps share the positive work AT is doing across the region.

You will deliver on AT's proactive communications approach to plan for and earn publicity for AT's wide range of programmes and projects. Supporting the Corporate Communications team's key outcomes, you will provide publicity advice and support across the Communications and Engagement department, building trust and reputation.

With strong resilience, optimism and empathy, you are a seasoned professional who brings prior experience in communications roles or a similar field such as journalism, public relations or marketing. An understanding of the public sector and local government landscape will be an advantage.

You are able to work across diverse communities and lead a team that juggles many complex projects to deliver great outcomes for your organisation.

You are experienced in driving a customer centric approach, continuous improvement and effective change management alongside creating idea driven content across all media channels.
