We are looking for a talented individual to come join our Court as a Court Registry Officer.
**Court Registry Officer -** in this role you will work with a team responsible for the successful operation of the Court. You will liaise with multiple stakeholders who are interacting with the Justice system. This includes being able to communicate confidently with Judges within the courtroom and their chambers as well as other members of the judiciary.
The tasks include but are not limited to:
- **Court Taking** - this is the facilitation of running the court. This includes introducing Judges (in English and Te Reo Maori), working closely with them in the Courtroom, Chambers, and general administration of the court.
- **Case management** - this involves ensuring files are accurate and up to date. This part of the role involves a large component of data entry.

- **Detail orientated and observant -** the court has many different processes and case information needs to be accurate;
- **Self-aware -**our customers are unique, and you will be confident working, both individually and as a team, across a range of situations;
- **Multi-task -**some of our processes are repetitive, but you'll be able to manage conflicting priorities and move from one task to another quickly;
- **Willing to learn -** legislation and processes in the courts is always changing and you will be able to adapt and take onboard feedback.
- **Resilience -** there are times when working in the courts, you will be working on sensitive cases and sometimes at high volume.

Gisborne District Court is one of the first tranche locations for the **Te Ao Mārama **Kaupapa, a new vision for the District Court.
In November 2020, Chief District Court Judge, Judge Heemi Taumaunu, announced Te Ao Mārama, his vision for change for the District Court. This vision has been developed as the District Court's response to longstanding intergenerational calls for change to the justice system and District Court. The concept Te Ao Mārama means ‘the world of light' or moving from the dark to the enlightened world. The vision is about an enlightened world where all people can come to court to seek justice and be seen, understood and meaningfully participate.
The change Te Ao Mārama creates will see the District Court become more equitable, people-centred, and better serving of its communities.

**Utu ā-tau/Salary**
The remuneration band for this role is $56,729 - $78,441 - Appointing salary will be based on skills and experience.
