Gisborne, New Zealand Switched On Group Full time

We are looking for a knowledgeable and passionate Health and Safety Officer to join our team.

This is a varied and busy role that will see you roll up your sleeves and get involved with supporting the wider team and will require you to travel to our regional offices (based in Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Palmerston North
- Whanganui) and sites regularly. You will thrive on working closely with our subcontractors and staff to upskill, embed and collaborate on all matters to do with Safety.

Key duties include but not limited to:

- Monitor work processes and procedures and working with key stakeholders to ensure H&S compliance
- Identify analyse and report near misses and any potential safety hazards
- Monitor ACC injuries and lead recovery at work programs
- Collaborate and work closely with team on Health and Safety monitoring and training processes
- Support a continuous improvement culture, instil best practices across all aspects of the Health and Safety function
- Upskilling and keeping abreast of relevant legislation and its impact on the organisation
- Achieve clear monthly targets and expectations

**Requirements**:

- Formally qualified in NZ Health and Safety or working towards it
- Minimum 3 years experience working with in the Health and Safety field in similar industry
- Ability to think pragmatically and provide sound advice on a range of H&S issues
- Meticulous, attention to detailed and self motivated
- Self-driven, results-orientated and excellent time management skills
- Open mind set, positive attitude and a team member
