Role purpose

The Retail Trainer is accountable for updating, coordinating, and delivering learning programs to new and existing team members. Programs ranges from onboarding, sales techniques, customer service, compliance and company protocols, with a combination of facilitator led and on the job training. Furthermore, the role will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring Sales Colleagues, working closely with the Learning and Development Manager, Retail Leaders and Compliance and Assurance Team to support and enhance the capability of the retail team.

Key accountabilities
- Plan and coordinate training sessions ensuring effective organisation and communication with key stakeholders
- Facilitate the onboarding program to new hires via Teams or face to face training
- Provide ongoing support and coaching throughout the new hire probation period to ensure the 30/60/90 new starter pathway is followed and completed
- Supply feedback to leaders and the HR Team on new hire progress and performance
- Train retail colleagues on policies, products and changes when necessary
- Train and coach colleagues on sales techniques and methods to promote our products and services effectively
- Work with Compliance and Assurance to deliver, track and maintain compliance standards and changes. This also includes spot audits on performance, compliance knowledge and procedural understanding.
- Collect and collaborate feedback from key stakeholders to monitor the delivery and quality of training
- Identify training gaps and provide feedback to the L&D Manager, supporting the development of training content and resources
- Develop training plans and provide one on one/group coaching when skills gaps or performance issues are identified
- Develop and manage the training calendar to ensure effective allocation of time and resources to achieve business outcomes
- Support the retail team when required in store
- Create a culture of learning by being the learning ambassador for Travelex, communicating learning opportunities and encouraging participation

Experience, skills and attributes
- High level of communication skills (written and verbal)
- High level of organisation skills with the ability to plan effectively and manage complex training calendars
- Ability to build strong relationships and positively engage relevant stakeholders
- Ability and willingness to travel across our ANZ/NZ network on a regular basis
- Passionate about providing exceptional learning experiences and supporting the growth and development of others
- Demonstrated understanding of adult learning principles
- Able to plan, evaluate and report on learning outcomes
- Energetic and independent self-starter, confident to make decisions effectively in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Experience in a past paced retail environment is highly desirable
- Experience in facilitation, on the job training, coaching and mentoring is highly desirable
- Experience is Articulate Rise and StoryLine is highly desirable
- Proficient in using Outlook, MS Teams and PowerPoint
