The primary purpose of the Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for carrying out the duties for the Engineer department, including design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, estimating and process improvement.

- Act as a safety leader and put safety first in all responsibilities, promoting an environment where each employee makes safety their priority
- Complete 3D designs for new, and existing machine components, fabrications and assemblies.
- Translate 3D models into detailed drawings with an eye for detail
- Create machine documentation from BOMs for manufacture through to parts manuals and after-sales service.
- Layouts in AutoCAD for potential customers (60% of workload)
- Create presentations of the equipment in PowerPoint using 3D SolidWorks models that we provide (10% of workload)
- Assist with creation of operational manuals for the existing equipment (30% of workload)
- Assist with looking for the local suppliers for some parts (if required in the future)

- Experience in AutoCAD.
- Experience designing for the food industry and an understanding of hygienic design requirements.
- Experience in sheet metal design and an understanding of welding advantages and limitations.
- Experience in SolidWorks would be an advantage.
