The Opportunity

Reporting into the Project Controls Manager, this role will sit within the Civil business - a division of Fulton Hogan specialising in infrastructure construction, based around reinforced concrete. We are currently delivering work ranging from bridges and wharves to water treatment plants, storage tanks and pipelines throughout New Zealand.

As the Project Planner, you will be responsible for assisting the Project Controls Manager with the process and tools used to plan, manage and mitigate schedule issues and any risk events that may impact on our projects.

Your main duties will include:
Planning, Scheduling and Project Reporting
- Project Deliverables;
- Scope Management;
- Work breakdown structures;
- Schedule Management comprising of statusing the program on a periodic basis and report progress against target and/or contract programs;
- Schedule Forecasting including Identifying critical areas within the project and work through resolution with Project and Site Engineers including Zone Managers;
- Corrective Actions meaning challenging information given by the engineers based on experience and logic;
- Progress measurement including the managing the timely preparation of reports and programs for each Zone/Section Manager;
- Earned Value & Key indices reporting;
- Productivity Analysis & Calculations;
- Assisting Site Engineers in the development of detailed Occupations programs using CCS

Risk and Delay Claims
- Risk Assessment & Management;
- Delay Claims Quantification;
- Forensic Schedule Analysis:
General
- Assist the Project Controls Manager with any other task deemed necessary and required to ensure the successful outcome of the project.

Key to this role will be your ability to work with a wide range of key stakeholders, with multiple projects on the go at the same time.

This is a permanent, full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week. We are looking for someone based in Auckland; you may also be required to travel to other locations within NZ for this role.

What you’ll bring to the table
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Civil Engineering or similar.
- At least 7 - 10 years’ experience in the related field.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical, negotiation and relationship skills.
- Industry and / or project induction in accordance with legislation.
