What we need.

The role has a team of direct reports including despatch, planning and administrators and you will ensure that they meet the operational and administrative compliance with all corporate requirements. The role will have direct contact with key operational people within external sites including Central Linehaul Planning, Network Transport (Auckland, Hamilton), Palmerston North, Wellington and other sites across the network. You will be responsible for the following:

- Rostering vehicles and drivers
- Promoting a high standard of Health and Safety to achieve Vision Zero
- Promoting and implementing operational KPIs
- Effective and proactive people management skills
- Implementing initiatives that ensure cost containment, maximize profit and achieve meet budget and customer objectives
- Motivating and developing a professional high performing unit
- Ensuring all transport activities meet best practice and legal requirements

This role will be rostered on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, based on a 12-hour shift, this position will require the employee to also work at other Auckland Countdown Distribution Centers from time to time.

About you?

You will be a result focused individual with excellent communication skills and can demonstrate the following:

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a dispatch supervisor/transport administration role
- Planning, rostering and organizational skills
- Proven, exceptional customer relationship experience
- Advanced geographical knowledge of Auckland and surrounding areas.
- High level of accuracy & attention to detail
- Ability to negotiate and proactive in approach
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- OSH endorsed forklift (F) license advantage but not necessary
- Class 5 licence would be an advantage not necessary
- SAP and Microsoft knowledge
