**Job Opportunity**: Junior Project Engineer/QS)
- **Location**: Waikato, New Zealand
- **Salary**: $80,000 - $120,000 per annum (depending on experience)
- **Industry**: Civil Construction, Drilling, and Water Projects
- **Role Overview**: As a Junior Project Engineer with QS responsibilities, you will be integral to the successful planning and execution of civil construction and water drilling projects. You will utilise your engineering skills and estimating acumen to ensure projects are accurately costed and efficiently managed from inception to completion.
- **Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for civil construction and drilling projects, particularly those involving water systems.
- Analyse project plans and specifications to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist in managing and overseeing project execution to ensure alignment with estimates and timelines.
- Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any deviations from the plan.
- Assist in the preparation of project schedules and budgets.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Some experience in project engineering and estimating within the civil construction and drilling industries, particularly in water-related projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in estimating software and project management tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
