Reporting to the Senior Manager Technology, Cyber and Data Risk, this role will be responsible for supporting advice on risk maturity, embedment of the 3 Lines of Defense Model and the accurate implementation of the Operational and Cyber Risk Frameworks as well as associated policies and guidelines.

You will also act as key support on Cyber and Technology Risks to the Senior Risk Business Partner group across all business unit portfolios.

Some of the day to day activities will include:

- Encouraging a strong, embedded risk culture that optimises risk/reward decision making and supports the delivery of the business’ strategic objectives.
- Supporting the monitoring of business risk practices, highlighting gaps and out of appetite risks and escalating as required.
- Support the oversight of risk assessments inherent in technology focused material changes e.g., key business decisions, projects, process changes, implementation of new infrastructure, product changes or transformation projects.
- To influence risk management practices that support the management of Technology and Cyber Risk within appetite.
- To build strong partnerships across the Risk business to provide well-balanced, researched and appropriate advice, including views from Compliance, Credit, Assurance, Financial Crime and Governance.
- Helping oversee an uplift in WNZL’s control environment including: control architecture, quality, control owner accountability, culture, capability, and end-to-end control effectiveness.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
- Significant (4+ years) experience in a Technology or Cyber Risk role and/or relevant business discipline
- Experience in financial services industry preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to extract key information and provide practical insight
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with, consult and advise senior management
- Demonstrated ability to influence the business to ensure Technology and Cyber Risk policies and guidelines are complied with
- Demonstrated ability to engage in complex and challenging conversations
- Demonstrated ability to provide coaching for performance uplift
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across the business
- Tertiary qualification in IT, Business, Management, Law or similar
