About the role
Data literacy and governance underpins so much of what we do here, particularly as we are on a transformative journey, opening new super depots and processing centres with ground-breaking technology that will enable us to deliver on our customer needs now and into the future.

We need to be confident that the decisions we're making along the journey are backed by robust, appropriate data. That's where you'll come in, as our Data Governance Manager you'll drive the adoption of Data Governance practices across the enterprise. You will maintain, implement, and ensure compliance to data governance strategies, policy, standards and processes, while improving data handling practices of accessibility, sharing and organisation across the business. This is a leadership position, where you'll be supported by an Information Management Analyst.

About you
You will need to bring strong, established experience with data governance standards and practices, and will have successfully lead programmes and projects. You will be known as a great people leader, and this leadership experience will give you a solid understanding of how to collaborate with, and influence senior leaders.

**To really succeed in this role you'll also need to have**:

- Proven experience establishing and driving successful governance and remediation programmes in complex environments with competing priorities
- Developed and led data usage strategies and implementing roadmaps including coverage of data ethics, governance, and data management considerations
- Significant experience in risk assessments around data products, including providing guidance on ways to mitigate risk and operate within appropriate guardrails
- Established consulting skills around shaping the problem space and critical thinking
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory and certification frameworks, and emerging trends and issues
