Central Otago District Council has a unique opportunity for a Graduate Water Services Analyst with a scientific, engineering or planning background to assist with setting the direction for water services management within Council as it moves towards new service delivery arrangements.

In this role you will assist with the development, review and updating of key documents including Water Safety Plans, Activity Management Plans and other key plans to ensure our three waters networks meet the needs of the community now, and in the future.

You will be working alongside a small team of engineers and planners who will work with you to develop your skills and experience and provide opportunities within the new service delivery organisation. Experience of working in the water sector is preferable but not essential. You will also have good communication skills, be willing to take ownership of issues and solutions, and be confident of working with mínimal supervision.

**As the successful applicant you will have**:

- a degree or equivalent in engineering or science
- up to three years’ experience working within a strategy and policy environment
- strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at various levels with proven relationship building experience.
- the ability to be a highly motivated team player who is well-organised and committed to providing excellent customer service.
- the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy and meet deadlines.

the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- the ability to work collaboratively with others
- current full drivers’ licence - class 1
