**Te kāinga rua | The opportunity**
Play a lead role in the delivery of Architectural projects across the infrastructure, utility, commercial property, education, iwi, defence, and advisory sectors. In this role, you will have the support of a leading design practice, Principal Architects, and the range of Beca’s design, engineering, advisory and digital professionals, making a difference in the projects we deliver.
While being based in Beca’s Tauranga Design Studio, you will be part of a nation-wide Design Practice, with studios also in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch. As such, you will be part of our award winning and growing Architecture practice, gaining recognition through our design approach such as our partnership delivering the Te Hono New Plymouth Airport Terminal (recognised in the Prix Versailles awards), Manukau bus interchange and the Brunswick Terminal Station (finalist in the World Architecture Festival Award).

**Beca Design Practice**
Our national Design Practice is committed to delivering quality design outcomes across New Zealand, Australia, and the South Pacific. We are a team of 60 architects and technicians, urban designers and landscape architects who are committed to transforming places and spaces that people live, work and play, through our design processes and through the support and technical capability across multiple disciplines and practice areas available at Beca.

As well as your passion to make a difference, you will also be motivated to develop your Architectural professional skills and abilities. To be successful in this role previous Architectural design and consultancy experience will be important. Importantly, you’ll appreciate the value that creative design thinking can bring to all projects regardless of their scale, typology and budget and you will be excited by the prospect of helping communities realise their potential.
**Key role elements will include**:
- Motivated by playing an active part as an Architect, in a broader national Architecture and design team with a creative and enquiring approach to design
- Experienced at delivering design projects from conceptualisation through to delivery and build stages and be excited by working on a variety of projects
- Credible, comfortable, and effective in interacting with clients, successfully pursuing, bidding and wining project commissions
- Able to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams with excellent communication skills, with clients, colleagues, and consultants - including visually through your designs
- Motivated and experienced in leading, mentoring, and coaching others to develop their career goals as they enter the profession
- Self-directed, critically minded, a problem solver, displaying a growth mindset
