Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
This position works with the Registrar-General of Land and his team to maintain confidence in property rights and facilitate land transactions by ensuring the land title registration system is well regulated. As the deputy for this statutory office, you will hold a delegation to act on behalf of the Registrar-General of Land as and when required.
You will have the opportunity to lead and engage with stakeholders to enhance our regulatory framework for the land title registration system in line with modern regulatory practice. This includes leading the development of risk-based standards and guidance under the Land Transfer Act and other legislation and managing compliance. You will also provide strategic and technical policy advice on the development of a digitally enabled land title system in the context of the broader property system.

He pūkenga tou - Skills & Experience
- Qualified as a NZ barrister and solicitor,
- Experienced in modern regulatory practice and identifying and managing risk,
- In-depth understanding of property law and related legislation (including the Land Transfer Act 2017, Property Law Act 2007, Unit Titles Act 2010 and the Resource Management Act 1991),
- Highly skilled in legal analysis and statutory decision-making,
- Application of digital technology to deliver services and achieve regulatory outcomes,
- Technical leadership and ideally people leadership,

The annual appointing salary range for this role is $135,000 to $160,000.
