We are on the lookout for a **Healthcare Simulation Technician (Senior Teaching Technician) **to join our team on a 0.2 FTE permanent basis. The role will provide advanced clinical technical support for senior medical and health sciences undergraduate students (medical, nursing, optometry, and pharmacy), postgraduate students, and various healthcare professionals, covering a wide range of internal and external courses and workshops deemed essential for safe medical practice in a hospital or community situation.

You will also work closely with course coordinators/convenors to determine the pedagogical drivers in clinical education. To provide course coordinators and tutors with substantive support and domain-specific technical skills whilst contributing to the development of practical learning resources and activities.

Key responsibilities of the role are:

- Take a technical lead role support with running and training of specialised and high-fidelity clinical equipment and simulators for the course teaching and conduct preventive maintenance, repairs, and testing on a regular basis to ensure they are safe and in working order.
- Ensure teaching facilities/rooms are clean, organised as per standard operating instructions and maintained to a high standard ensuring ongoing functionality, availability to users, and regulatory compliance.
- Support the effective upkeep, safe and smooth operation, and logístical management of the learning spaces to deliver an excellent student experience at the Simulation Centre for Patient Safety
- Independently conduct or assist co-ordination of effective operations of course setup, operation, and pack-down of teaching activities including preparation of props, patient notes and other simulation related items and materials in advance.

This is a **part-time** (7.5 hours per week), **permanent **opportunity.
The remuneration is $68,600 - $84,700 per annum, pro-rata for part time hours.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Tertiary qualification in a health-science.
- Recent experience in a clinical setting.
- Nurse, paramedic, anaesthetic technician, or allied health professional is preferred.
- Experience in explaining and resolving difficult technical issues in a clinical practice environment.
- Demonstrable experience in coaching and mentoring.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good computer literacy.
