**The Opportunity**:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Data Modeller to join the Data Engineering team building Data Solutions. This is a permanent role based in our Auckland CBD office with flexible working arrangements.

Central to the development is the implementation of a new data streaming platform - an Azure hosted Confluent Cloud implementation of Apache Kafka. Data from multiple policy administration systems will be ingested to the data platform, which is being developed to conform to a common data model. Downstream there are integrations with a Microsoft Dynamics based General Ledger.

Some key accountabilities include.
- Mapping data from various source systems to a common destination data model
- Providing data transformation logic to the development team of the vendor
- Incorporating changes to data transformation logic as suggested by the business and operations teams
- Holding discussions with the operations teams to obtain missing data
- Ensuring that data from spreadsheets can be easily ingested into target system on an ongoing basis
- Data validation against source systems and requirement documents
- Supporting development and test teams to resolve any issues with the output data
- Providing regular feedback on achievements, risks, and issues

**About you**:
With 5 years plus proven experience, you’ll bring a strong understanding of data modelling. You will be a natural collaborator, and relish the opportunity collaborate and contribute.

You’ll thrive within a collaborative, dynamic working environment, enjoy building strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders. You’ll be a great communicator (both written and verbal), have exceptional organisational skills and bring an agile mindset.

Together with this you will bring:

- SQL Proficiency (Query building + data transformation).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong technical knowledge in data manipulation.
- Advanced Excel skills - pivots, formulas, lookups.
- High attention to detail
- Insurance experience is ideal, but not essential.
- KSQL and Kafka experience desirable.
